These are not great pictures; let me state that right up front. No faux humility here, just a warning to those accustomed to my typically brilliant work.
We got together with some friends for a backyard cookout over Sean and Emily’s house a few Sunday’s back. The weather was an incredible break from the summer’s crushing heat (yes, I have a love/hate relationship with the Southern summer), and it was a pleasure to sit outside for a change.
Sean and Emily are young and therefore insanely healthy with their diet and exercise – I secretly pity them the cruel mistress that is advancing age. As such, we had veggie burgers and dogs on the grill. Both were amazingly good, and I felt an immediate improvement in my overall well being. Then I had another beer and that feeling blessedly passed.
I am not a guy that typically brings his camera to family and friend events. Any more than I would expect friend who was in finance to balance my checkbook when we had them over for dinner – that and I would dread the look of pity I would receive once they got a gander at my balance. However, I thought it might actually be nice to have pictures of people I know for a change. Nothing fancy, just friends having fun. There is even a shot of me looking more handsome than anyone has a right to look.
It’s a burden really.
